How to Update and Reinstall Realtek HD Audio Manager

Realtek HD Audio helps manage the sound setting for windows systems and comes with the Realtek Audio Driver. The driver provides high-quality DTS, surround sound, and Dolby. Its incredible features also support a six-channel DAC (Digital to Analog Converter).

Many users face problems like the Realtek icon being invisible from the taskbar, notification sections, and system tray. Search the Realtek HD Audio Manager

Before moving forward, just check if the Realtek HD Audio Manager is missing or not. Find the installation destination by going to the C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA. At this location, you will find the RtHDVCpl.exe file. Now double click on it and see if the Realtek HD Audio Manager opens.

Steps to download from the Realtek Website

It is essential to uninstall the current drivers before downloading the new ones on your device. Follow these steps to avoid any duplicate conflicts:

  • Go to the Start Button and search for the Device Manager.
  • Once the Device Manager list appears, search for the Sound, video, and game controllers. Click to expand it.
  • Try locating the Realtek HD audio driver.
  • Right-click on the Audio driver option and select Uninstall from the menu
  • A small box will appear now select the Delete the driver software for this device box.
  • Then click on the uninstall option.
  • Navigate Views Tab and select the Show Hidden Devices option from the menu
  • Check if there are any duplicate audio drivers on your device.
  • If there is a duplicate one, right-click on it, then select the uninstall option.
  • Now restart the device.

Once you’re done with the drivers’ uninstallation, go to the Realtek Website to start the downloading process. However, there are two ways you can download the Realtek HD Manager. One is manually through its official website, and the other way is Microsoft Update Catalog.

To download the Realtek HD Audio Manager visit realtek.com and check if the software is available. If the software is not available here, go and check the HD audio codecs on realtek.com/en/downloads.

  • Select the downloads option on the page
  • A list of available Realtek audio drivers will appear for download.
  • Click on any one to start the downloading process.
  • Once the installation is done, double click on the setup files.
  • Now follow the given instructions to complete the Realtek HD Audio Manager Download.

Microsoft Update Catalog can help solve the Realtek drivers problem for the devices. It offers updates for Windows 2000 SP3, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP. This service can help with updates to distribute over the network. Visit the Microsoft Update Catalog site and type Realtek or Realtek drivers in the search box. You will get the list of available audio drivers.

There is one more way to download the Realtek HD Audio Manager. The Windows Device Manager allows the users to control and view the hardware attached to the system. Now to download through the Device Manager, follow the given steps:

  • If you can’t find the Device Manager, go to the search box and type Device Manager.
  • Choose the “Sound, video and game controllers” option from the list
  • Go to the Realtek Driver and right-click
  • From the drop-down menu, click on the update the driver option.
  • Two options will appear: Search for the updated driver and Browse my computer for driver software.
  • Click on the first option, and the windows will search the device and internet for the latest Realtek HD audio manager driver.

How to solve the Realtek HD Audio Manager issues?

1.Task Manager

  • Open the start menu and go to Task Manager.
  • Search for the startup tab
  • Find the Realtek High Definition Audio Manager
  • Check if the status of an Audio manager is disabled.
  • Right-click and choose the enable option from the menu
  • Now, restart the system.

2.Device Manager

  • Go to the Device Manager
  • Choose the Sound, video, and game controllers and right-click on the Realtek option
  • From the drop-down menu, select the updated driver.
  • Select the second option: Browse my computer for driver software.
  • Now click on the option of Let me pick from a list of available drivers.
  • Check carefully and pick the attest Realtek driver by date.
  • Choose the “Next” option and update.

3.Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for HD Audio

  • Again, go to the Windows Device Manager.
  • Search for Microsoft UAA Bus Driver
  • Right-click to open the menu and select the Disable option
  • Go to Windows Settings and select the Apps & Features option.
  • Select the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver and uninstall it
  • Navigate the device manager and right-click the disabled driver
  • Select the uninstall option from the drop-down menu
  • Now follow the steps mentioned earlier to install the Realtek HD Audio Driver.

If nothing else is solving the Realtek HD Audio Manager issues, you can also restore points. One must have restore points in their device. Otherwise, this option is of no use.
