Roblox is one of the best game creation platforms. It allows players to come up with their own games with the help of Roblox Studio. The platform boasts more than 65 million active players. Since it is such an extensive network, there are bound to be some issues that crop up frequently. Such problems require immediate troubleshooting. One of these issues occurs when Roblox won’t work on Google Chrome.
Why doesn’t Roblox work on Google Chrome sometimes?
Before you start using Roblox, ensure that everything has been updated. There are some signs that signify Roblox is not running on Google Chrome. One of them is when the error dialog box says your browser cannot find Roblox. You also might find yourself caught up in an endless installing application loop. When you try to connect to an online game, you also might face frequent crashes.
The reason for these glitches and errors might be because of corrupted temporary files. Sometimes, it also happens that your firewall stops Roblox from starting. A different program can also cause disruptions when you are performing the installation.
Things To Do When Roblox won’t work on Google Chrome
Here are some things you can try doing when you face errors while running Roblox on Google Chrome.
Exit the app and restart it
Select the menu option from the three lines present on the Chrome browser on the top right of the window. From the pop-up menu, choose More Tools. Then, navigate to the task manager. Click on the program or process that you wish to exit and click on the end process present on the bottom right of the window.
Restart the device
Select your account display picture and click on sign out and then turn off. After switching off the device for 30 seconds, long-press the power button to turn it on again. Subsequently, open the Roblox app and see if the issue persists.
Ensure that the date and time are accurate
Navigate to the status section of the taskbar and select settings. Go to the bottom of the settings page and select the Show advanced settings option. If the date and time are incorrect, change them using the date and time section on the Settings page.
Reset Windows internet options
If the Roblox platform shows errors continuously when you are trying to run it on Google Chrome, you should reset your PC’s internet options. If you are using a different browser like Firefox or Internet Explorer and facing the same problem, this solution is the best.
To go about it, open Google Chrome. Navigate to settings from the three dots. Select the Advanced option to access more settings. When you scroll down, choose the reset and clean up option. Then, select the restore settings to their original defaults option. A dialog box will pop up. You need to click on Reset Settings from the two options present. After you perform the reset, exit Google Chrome so that it can execute the changes requested.
Clear the temporary Internet Files
When you uninstall or reinstall a program, an important step is to delete your browser’s temporary internet files. This is done to solve any current corruption issues. The recommended way to complete this step is to do this via the Disk Cleanup Utility. Right-click on the system partition and go to properties. Then, navigate to disk cleanup and check the box near temporary internet files and choose OK.
Check the Firewall
Various antivirus software and internet security programs interfere with the programs that have access to the internet. Sometimes, these programs become overcautious and do not allow other programs like Roblox to access the internet. To ensure that Roblox is not blocked, perform the following steps.
Go to the firewall’s control panel. This will be present on either the Windows control panel or the taskbar. After that, navigate to the program permissions section. From the list, choose Roblox and allow it to have unrestricted access to the internet.

Antivirus
The antivirus or anti malware often runs in the background and acts as a highly alert firewall. This results in the prevention of seamless communication between Roblox studio and relevant servers. There are two ways to fix this. You should update your antivirus or if this doesn’t work, add Roblox to your whitelist.
In many cases, the antivirus flags the Roblox and marks it as a threat. This happens even though the platform is virus-free and free of malware. This could be due to some glitches in the antivirus, which results in incorrect flagging. This phenomenon is known as a false positive. You should immediately flag the report citing the ‘false positive’ reason. Further, set it as an allowed program for any kind of antivirus or anti malware app.
Routers
Roblox performs a scan of any available port on your device. It does not have any restriction to use a particular port for the outgoing data. In the case where the router blocks UDP packets on any of the ports, you won’t be able to run Roblox on Google Chrome. For each game, the ports are chosen and allotted dynamically.
Open your router’s manual and see how you can unblock it. If you have a DSL modem that is notorious for blocking ports, consult with your ISP about what to do next.
Uninstall and reinstall Roblox
There might not be an issue externally sometimes, and there might be no other way to fix it without uninstalling it and installing it back. The first step is to reset the internet options following the method explained above. Then go ahead and reinstall Roblox.
First, make sure to close all programs. Uninstall the game and restart your PC before you begin the re installation process. This process will overwrite the already existing copy of the program present on your computer. It will also replace the deleted or non-working files.
To reinstall Roblox, go to the Roblox website and log in to your account. You need to select Roblox from the list of programs to begin the re installation.
