For updating Xcode using a new Apple ID, you must first remove the old credentials using which you downloaded the app from the App Store. To remove the old credentials, you need to delete the _Mas Receipt directory from the Xcode application.
Steps to follow
- Launch Finder and go to Applications.
- Select Xcode and right-click on it, and choose “Show Package Contents.”
- Enlarge the Contents directory and select _Mas Receipt.
- Type Command+Delete to delete the directory permanently. Another method is to right-click on it and select “Move to Trash.”
- Since this is a secure file, the application will ask you for your credentials.
- Provide the necessary credentials upon being prompted.
- Restart the App Store after closing it. Then look for Xcode.
- Now, press the “Update” button to update your Xcode.
- You can now log in to Xcode with a new Apple ID.
App Store will update your Xcode to the latest version with the newly logged-in Apple ID.
