Google Pay Allows Users to Transfer Money From the US to India and Singapore

Yes! You heard it right! Google Pay has now introduced a feature wherein its users can transfer money from the US to India and Singapore for the moment. Read through this article to know more about the same. This article also informs you about transferring money on Google Pay from the US to India and Singapore.

Google Pay has collaborated with Western Union and Wise to make the international transfer of money possible. Google Pay intends to extend international payments to more than 200 countries and territories via Western Union. It also plans to use Wise for international payments for 80 countries by the end of the year.

Currently, only users in the US can transfer money to users in India and Singapore and not the other way around. If you live in the US and want to transfer funds to your friends or relatives in India and Singapore, read below.

How to transfer money on Google Pay from the US to India or Singapore?

Follow these steps carefully to transfer money using Google Pay:

  1. Update your Google Pay on the Play Store if you do not have the latest version. If you do not have Google Pay, then download the latest version from the Play Store.
  2. Set up your Google Pay account by following the on-screen directions to add your bank accounts linked to your mobile number.
  3. Select the Google Pay user to whom you wish to transfer money.
  4. Tap on the “Pay” icon and select your preferred mode of transfer, i.e., through Western Union or Wise.
  5. Press “Continue” and choose the recipient’s preferred mode of receiving money between UPI and cash pickup.

Google Pay has rolled out this feature at a crucial time where India is battling the deadly second wave of COVID-19. With the help of this feature, Indians residing in the US can transfer money to their family and friends back home. This feature is also simple and easy to use and hence can be used by anyone with little knowledge.
