When facing issues with the connectivity and wireless performance, it is better to reinstall the Wi-Fi drivers. Reinstalling the drivers will fix all the problems network-related with the Wi-Fi adapter.
You need to check that all the software is up to date on Windows OS. In case they are not updated, try to update the Wi-Fi drivers from the disk management manually. If the Wi-Fi drivers are still showing issues fix them by uninstalling and then reinstalling it.
Try These Tips Before Uninstalling
Look at the right side of the taskbar and see if it is showing no network connection. You have to make sure that the Wi-Fi network is turned on and the airplane mode is off. Now, try to connect to your Wi-Fi network or anyone that you trust. In case it already shows related to the network, click on Disconnect and try to connect again.
Many Wi-Fi routers broadcast in two different frequencies. If the list of the Wi-Fi networks shows, both the frequency bands try them one by one.
Network troubleshooting can also help in such cases. It can quickly diagnose network related issues and fix them.
- Go to the Start option.
- Move to Settings
- Now, select the Network and Internet option.
- Go to Status
- See under the Change your network settings and choose Network troubleshooter.
- Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.
Network connections can be due to several reasons like the modem, adapter, website, and the Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- If the Wi-Fi icon shows connected and a particular website is not working, try opening another one. Many faulty websites don’t open that easily. So, you need to check carefully.
- Sometimes it is the Wi-Fi router that is creating issues. In that case, go to the taskbar search box and type Command Prompt. Now, select Run as administrator and then click on YES. On the Command Prompt, type “ipconfig” and press enter. Search for the names and look for your IP address.
- Now, again go to prompt and type this “ping
” (Default Gateway is the IP address). Press Enter - You will see several results, and if the router is working, the list will also consist of replies. For example, it will look like this “Reply from “IP address”: bytes=32 time=5ms TTL=64.”
However, if your Wi-Fi is still not working correctly, you have to opt for reinstallation steps.
