Technical advancements have enabled people to enjoy features that were restricted to their specific platforms before. Since PCs have become the mainstay of entertainment for a huge number of people across the globe, the switch from television sets towards computers and handheld devices has seen a surge over the years. A lot of people today enjoy their favorite movies, web series, etc. on either a laptop or a desktop PC, this offers them a number of features on the go, but at the same time, it does limit the experience that can be achieved on an excellent television set with a home theater option.

Following the simple steps: setting up Chromecast for windows 10

This is where the need of a platform arises that’ll indeed help the user enjoy various movies and videos stored in his/her collection. A Chromecast is one such device that’ll definitely be the best option for such a task at hand. It’ll help project the screen of the computer on the television set with ease. All the user has to do is follow a set of detailed steps that’ll, in turn, make the job easier at the end. For an excellent watching experience, the user has to follow these steps.

Step 1

The first step involves connecting the USB ports of the cable to the Chromecast device and the USB power adapter, upon connecting the ends, the user has to connect the HDMI end of the Chromecast device to the HDMI port of the television.

Step 2

The next step involves setting up the input of the television to the HDMI port in which the device has been connected. For example, if the device has been connected to the first port, use HDMI 1, if not, use HDMI 2.

Step 3

In this step, the user is supposed to download the Chrome browser if he/she doesn’t use it by default. However, if the user already possesses the Chrome browser, it’s all fine then. It should be noted that this step is for computers only as the connection process has been completed as far as the television side of things is concerned.

Step 4

On the computer, the user has to open the Chrome browser upon downloading and installing the same and visit chromecast.com/setup.

Step 5

Once the Chrome Setup has been opened, the user is supposed to click on Set Up Your Chromecast using this computer link.

Step 7

The acceptance of terms and conditions will then redirect the user to a search window where the device will be searching for available Chromecast devices connected to the user’s WiFi network.

Step 8

Once the previous step is done, the user will be redirected to a new page where he/she will be presented with the option Set Me Up. This is the option that has to be selected.

Step 9

The user now has to click on the WiFi button present on the taskbar, upon clicking the button, the user will be displayed a list of available WiFi options. Here, the user has to select the Chromecast’s open WiFi network.

Step 10

Once the Chromecast’s WiFi network has been connected, the user has to click on the Next button present in the window.

Step 11

The user will then be directed to a new screen where a code will be displayed. Now, this code will be displayed both on the PC as well as the computer; the user has to make sure that the code displayed on the PC matches with that displayed on the television.

Step 12

Now, this step involves naming the Chromecast device. The user has to enter the name of his/her choosing that’ll represent the Chromecast device. Upon entering the name, the user has to click on the Looks Good option.

Step 13

This step involves the setting up of WiFi options. Here, the user has to enter the WiFi’s password after selecting the preferred WiFi network upon which the whole setup has to function.

Step 14

The next step will display the user with the screen saying Ready to Cast! This here marks the completion of the setting up of Chromecast for the user’s television.
