Connect the device to the monitor
The initial step in the process of the setup of a Chromecast device is to connect it to the desired TV screen or the monitor you wish to cast the content upon. The device must be plugged into an HDMI port, or it would not cast anything on the monitor. If in case your monitor does not support an HDMI port, then you can maneuver through this problem by using an external HDMI port, which can thus be connected to the monitor.
- The first step is to plug in the HDMI port of your TV to your Chromecast device.
- With the use of the remote of your display screen, you will be able to switch to the correct HDMI port, which will stream your casted screen.
Download a suitable app
The practical usage of the Chromecast device depends on the proper navigation of its functions with a suitable app that can be installed into any smartphone, iPad, iPhone, or tablet. The Google Home app can either be downloaded through the google play store on an android smartphone or through the apple play store on an iPhone or an iPad.
In case you use any Apple devices, then instead of the Google Home app, you should download the Home app from the app store.
When casting on a different monitor through a desktop screen, the app need not be used to navigate through the functions; merely having google chrome installed is sufficient. A Google Cast extension can be used for the chrome browser on a computer or any other desktop screen.
Once the above process has been completed, you can switch the TV’s input to the correct HDMI port which then, would show a ‘set me up’ window that would prompt you to finish the rest of the app process.
Without the support of the Google Cast extension in the desktop, it would be troublesome to operate the proper functioning of the Chromecast device without any glitches and difficulties.
